Important Announcement - April 2026

We have major news at Weft Blown that we wanted to share it with you as we have always appreciate your support.

From today we are starting the process of winding down this phase of Weft Blown.

The main reason for this is that we have come to a point where it is no longer viable to run Weft Blown as it is just now.

Weft Blown has been a great business to run since December 2013 and we have loved seeing it grow from Ange weaving and teaching from her Craft Town Scotland studio in West Kilbride and then to having our own shop where we focused on selling weaving looms and spinning wheels. The best part has been seeing so many of you over the years growing your weaving and spinning skills, which in turn has helped to keep these crafts alive.

Unfortunately over the past couple of years there have been many pressures on running a business, which has made it very difficult to keep Weft Blown going.

This has led to Ange having to get a paid job last year as we could no longer take a salary for her from Weft Blown. Ange is now happily working full-time as a receptionist at a vets in Broadford in the Isle of Skye but this is not leaving much time to concentrate on Weft Blown. Ange is also wanting to get time to craft again and is hoping at some point this will lead to a different phase of Weft Blown.

As Rob also works full-time from home it has meant that currently a lot of our free time is spent on running Weft Blown and unfortunately the sales for Weft Blown are no longer making this financially viable.

From today we are starting to wind down our remaining stock for sale on our website. You are no longer able to pre-order out of stock items. Prices are as shown on our website.

You can no longer earn Loyalty points but you do have until 31st May 2026 to use any Loyalty points you have earned.

If you have a Gift Card you have until 31st May 2026 to use this too.

We will contact anyone with an existing pre-order as we will still be sending these out once the items are back in stock.

We are hoping that Weft Blown may come back at some point in the future but Ange does need to take some time out to regain her creative focus and see where Weft Blown wants to go next.

We are aware that this news is disappointing and we really do appreciate the support from all of our customers over the years. The time has come now for us to move on to new ventures and be able to spend more time together enjoying our life on the Isle of Skye.

We will be on holiday from 3 to 10 April and the processing of orders placed from 2 April onwards will resume from 11 April.

Shipping rates have now changed and free shipping is now on orders over £150. This is due to the increasing costs of shipping.

If you have any questions regarding any of this then please do get in touch.

Thanks

Ange & Rob
