FAQ's

How long will my delivery take?

If your item is in stock we aim to get it in the post within 2 to 4 working days (usually is it quicker than this). We send items via Royal Mail, Parcelforce 24 and DHL depending on the size of the package and where it is going.

For items that are Pre Order once your order is placed we will email you as soon as we can and give you an estimate of when we expect this to be back in stock. Sometimes we are unable to give an exact timescale due to the delays that can arise in our supply chain.

How does Partial Payment Work?

On some larger priced items you can make a partial payment at the time of ordering. This is counted as a deposit for your item.

The remaining payment for the item is due when the item is ready to ship.

You will be emailed an invoice and payment link for the remainder of the amount when the item is getting ready to ship.

The item will only be shipped once the final payment has been received by Weft Blown.

Shipping is included at checkout with the initial partial payment. You will not be charged a second time for shipping.

You can only pay for 1 item's Partial Payment at checkout and nothing else. If you'd like to add to your order then do contact us and we can send you an invoice for the other items you'd like to be sent with your order.

I have pre-ordered an item or want a special order item. When will you charge my debit/credit card?

When you place an order or pre-order through the checkout on our website your payment method is charged at the time of order.

Our payment processing provider does not offer the facility to place the charge to your card on hold until the time of shipment so payment is taken at time of order/pre-order.

We do not hold card details ourselves so that we comply with data security best practice, legislation and everything is processed by the payment management system linked to our website – this means we cannot hold card details to manually charge a card later at time of shipping.

Can I pick up from your shop?

We no longer have a shop and as we are now located at our house we are unable to offer a collection service.

Can I get my order sent next day/express delivery?

We are located in a semi-rural area without access to a large central post office or courier hub. As a result we have restricted parcel collection times and unfortunately we cannot offer a next day delivery service. We do try to process orders as quickly as possible though and please do contact us if you require your order urgently - we will do our best to expedite shipping!

Do you ship to customers outside the UK?

Yes, we ship international orders and shipping rates are now shown at checkout and you can even get a shipping estimate in your Cart.

For customers within the EU you will be liable to pay import duty and any other associated fees on purchases. This is to be paid to our courier DHL before they release the delivery to be sent to your address and they will contact you about this.

Coming Soon - At checkout an estimate of these fees and taxes will be shown but you will NOT pay for it at our checkout, it is just an estimate of what our courier will charge.

Coming Soon: For EU orders under €150 import taxes and fees will be paid at checkout. This means that you will not have to pay for this at any other point. If there is an issue with this then do contact us as soon as possible.

Coming Soon - For customers in the Rest of the World you will get an estimate of shipping fees and taxes at checkout. You will NOT pay this at checkout as this will be collected by our courier DHL once it has entered your country and is ready to ship to you.

Please note that we are unable to supply Louët products to the US, Canada, Switzerland, South Korea and Japan. This is due to local dealer agreements being in place. If you are in one of these countries then you can find a local dealer on the manufacturer website.

For Schacht customers in the USA and Canada we recommend going to your local dealer or directly to Schacht.

Is delivery of floor looms included in the free shipping rate (UK Customers Only)?

Yes, delivery costs to customers in the mainland UK is included within the loom prices shown.

Please note delivery to other countries and some remote and island locations will attract a delivery surcharge.

Shipping costs outside the UK will be shown at Checkout.

If I buy a Louët or Schacht Floor Loom or Spinning Wheel from you do I have to pay any extra import charges on top of the price shown on your website (UK Customers Only)?

No. All our prices are inclusive of any import taxes and duty that is paid when importing to the UK from outside the UK. We have all products delivered to our shop first and then send it on to you. We take care of all the import administration and customs fees for customers in the UK.

If you provide me with a quote for a floor loom will the final price I pay change due to fluctuating foreign exchange rates?

No. All quotes we provide are valid for 28 days and once we have received payment of the deposit within this 28 day period the final price you pay has then been fixed, whatever happens to exchange rates or supplier price rises. Exchange rates should be our problem, not one for our customers to have to worry about!

How do I know if my order is in stock?

We try to have as many items in stock as we can but there are some items that we order in direct from our suppliers.

If an item is not in stock it will show as Pre Order on the product page and at checkout.

Where products are imported to order this is stated and for items that have a longer lead time we will contact you with an estimate of when we expect to have it in stock.

If for any reason your item is temporarily out of stock we will email you to let you know what the estimated delivery time will be.

If you want to cancel your order as you need the items before we can send them to you then do let us know as soon as possible so we can arrange this.

I would like to return an item. How do I do this?

Our refund policy states our refund and return policy.

You MUST contact us first at sales@weftblown.com to say what you want to return and why. We will then let you know about how to return the item. If you do not contact us about returning the item we may then be unable to process your return.

More details can be found in our refund policy.

Do you sell parts for looms or wheels?

Yes we do and we can get parts for any Ashford, Louët, or Schacht looms or wheels as long as they are still made by our suppliers. We list as many parts as we can on our website but if you're part is not there then do get in touch. If you know what the part is or can take a photo of where the part is missing as well as the serial number if known then we can track it down with our suppliers and let you know the cost.

I have a question/difficulty/issue with an item that I have purchased. What should I do?

If you experience any problems with equipment that you have bought from Weft Blown please get in touch with us as soon as possible and we will look to resolve your issue for you quickly. We have a good relationship and regular contact with all of our suppliers and work with them closely to resolve any rare technical issues arising with their products.

Do you buy second hand equipment or can I trade in my loom or wheel towards the price of a new one?

Unfortunately we do not deal in second hand equipment due to space and uncertainty of the quality of the wheels and looms. We recommend that if you want to sell a loom or wheel to list it on our Weft Blown Cloud, or UK Spinners group or UK Weavers group on Ravelry.

Do you run classes for weaving or spinning?

Due to how our business has grown we are currently unable to offer classes in weaving or spinning. We are looking at developing online courses in 2023/24. However, if you want to come and try out any of our wheels and looms you can book an appointment to see us.

Do spinning wheels, weaving looms and larger items require assembly or do they come ready built?

The majority of the weaving looms, spinning wheels and large items that I sell need built. The reason why most of our products are flat packed is to ensure that it gets to you in a secure manner for you to then build it yourself. It also helps you to understand how the equipment works.
