Otago Penguins and Sheep Handwoven Scarf
by Ange Sewell at Weft Blown
When we were in New Zealand in 2017 we spent a magical afternoon at Penguin Place on the Otago Peninsula of South Island.
We were able to watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean while the yellow-eyed penguins came on to the beach for the evening to their nests in the dunes.
Ange was reminded of this time when she found Qing Fibre Kid Mohair Silk yarn called Penguin which perfectly matched the colours of the late afternoon sky. She decided to combing the yarn with hand dyed Merino yarn by Old Maiden Aunt yarns that's called Cold Sheep which is a perfect combination.
The scarf is soft and light and perfect to wrap up in anytime of the year.
