Class - Next Stage Weaving/Double Weave on a Rigid Heddle Loom

Saturday 9th September 2017 and Friday 10th November 2017

If you’ve already done some weaving, but want to find out what happens if you use cotton and wool together, add in elastic, or weave double cloth on a rigid heddle loom then this is the class for you. We will also look at new techniques that can add pattern and texture to your weaving.

You will make a short warp in the morning, mixing different yarns and sett of yarns. Then in the afternoon you can experiment with yet more yarns and materials ranging from boucle, cotton, linen, high-twist yarns, elastic, wire, plastic, and find out what yarns if you use shrink and non-shrink yarns.

At the end of the day you will have several samples to take home that will show the different properties of these materials, and lots of inspiration to help take your weaving further.

If there is a specific technique or yarn that you want to use on the day please let me know before the class.

This class is for weavers who have their own rigid heddle looms to bring to the class. If you are unable to bring a loom then you borrow one on the day but you must confirm at the time of booking that you need a loom.

All yarns and materials will be provided.

Class cost is £70.
