Arran Twist Sweater - Autumn - Handwoven by Weft Blown
Arran dominates the skyline here in West Kilbride and is always a constant source of inspiration.
This sweater has been inspired by the topography of the mountains which repeats across the cloth, and of the colours of the island in Autumn.
Ange at Weft Blown wove the cloth using our Louët Delta floor loom. She then has sewn it together with the front fabric twisted around to created a drape at the neckline and nice wide armholes for comfort.
This sweater is perfect to wear throughout the year and is a great layering garment.
The yarns used are Shetland wool from Jamiesons of Shetland, Merino Wool from Old Maiden Aunt yarns, and some handspun yarn by Ange.
The sweater is unique and comes in one size only. It is more of a Small/Medium size.
The back measures 85cm edge to edge and is 50cm deep from back neck to the bottom of the back.
Care: Handwash only, iron whilst damp, lay flat to dry.
